LA legendary food critic Jonathan Gold (RIP) favorite. The menu is essentially the same, so is the high food quality. The good thing is now they take reservation and I was even able to get a last minute 'table' on a busy Saturday evening and that really saved my day. This place is not for everyone because of the bar/deli style seat arrangement but I found it lively and great for people watching. Highly recommend.

Get the burger, you won’t regret it because I have dreams about it! The liver pate and beef tartare was also very delicious!

I felt like I was in France. The service was impeccable. My salad was light and tasty. The steak had a nice taste with tarragon, the Chocolate mousse is so good. I only gave a small bite to my husband. The baguette had bordier butter from france, which is the best butter in the world

Would give it six stars!! The service was excellent and the food was so good that even if I was full I eagerly devoured everything. Definitely try ESCARGOTS, OMELETTE, BIG MEC, and PARIS BREST. I wondered how the texture of the omlette could be so smooth. Meanwhile I'm usually not a dessert person. But I simply could not resist the temptation of the Paris Brest - the crunchy shell was a heavenly match with the cream!! (It tasted like a cream puff but was better than any of the ones I've had before) P.S. No reservation. For weekend lunch, better to come at around 12 so that you hopefully do not need to wait.

It is one of my favourite places if I crave a French atmosphere. I love that they have an open kitchen, and when I sit at the bar, I can watch how everything is getting prepared - it’s a huge bonus, in my opinion. Thank you so much for a fantastic service! Valet parking is $15.

This was one of the best dining experiences I've had in Los Angeles. The cocktails, food, and service surpassed my expectations. The cocktails were unique, agreat pour & well balanced. The baguette and butter are a must. Each entrée was delicious. I was drinking the sauce of the mussels. We had a dessert and Ma Chérie. Perfect ending to fantastic meal. Thank you,(both) Connor(s), Jeneé & Ben.

Very cool spot. Staff all had a great co-op vibe. We walked it a little after 4, sat at the chef's table (bar), the spots behind the bar are cool and certainly don't feel as crowded/cramped as they look. The inside has a great atmosphere, food was great, drinks were great. 10/10 would go again. I'd recommend getting a reservation at the chef's table, outside looks a little 'exposed' to the busy street.

Returned after a 10 year hiatus, it’s still a gem. The classics are nostalgic and comforting, and the service is exactly what I want when dining solo: welcoming but not overbearing. The French onion soup is outstanding, and bigger than it needs to be. The escargot is an excuse to drink garlic butter. It gets cosy at the bar, and the neighbours inevitable strike up a conversation, but all thoroughly enjoyable.

Their burger is like a French Kiss: you didn't really know decadence until you tried it. The rest of the menu is simple and solid French bistro food, but Le Big Mec remains the star of the show. The setting is basic - a little patio on a parking lot and inside a row of high stools facing the wall. The vibe is great though and the staff is super friendly. Limited but excellent choice of wine, some decent cocktails, and incredible digestifs like this Mezcal from a world where agaves are sentient beings, and this Sfumato that tastes like your grandpa's old leather armchair. Don't miss out on this LA institution (the restaurant, not your grandpa's armchair).

Classic French bistro food. Service was great and really enjoyed our meal. I had the steak frites, my daughter had the croque madame, and started with the escargots which were delicious. My other daughter had the omelet which wss fluffy and beautiful. The desserts were amazing. The meal was so reminiscent of meals I've had in France. Although I'd say this is a bit pricier but still very good.
